Arbitration

Arbitration

Not as Expensive as Going to Court

Arbitration

Many property disputes are dealt with by arbitration and independent expert determinations, because they are cheaper and quicker than taking a case to court and - like court - the decision is binding.

Arbitration

Is a process whereby the parties present their cases to an Arbitrator, whose duty is to fully consider the merits of each party’s representations and make an award to settle the matter.

Independent Expert

An Independent Expert can consider parties’ representations, but is not bound by those representations, so the expert has a duty to investigate and use his own knowledge and experience before making a determination.

Professional Arbitration on Court Terms (PACT)

Is a scheme offered by RICS and the Law Society as a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for lease renewal disputes that offers a quick, efficient and cost-effective solution to your commercial lease renewal dispute - without the need to go to court.

If you are seeking an Arbitrator or Independent Expert to determine a dispute, or require an expert witness to represent you, contact Peter Layer for an initial discussion.
